We also recommend attending to Andrew Young’s classes in Wellington. The Bujinkan Onmyo Dojo head Instructor Andrew Young has two decades of experience living and training in traditional Martial arts in Japan. Having only recently returned to the UK and started the Dojo in June 2011. He provides training to students rarely found outside of Japan within a friendly Dojo. The Dojo is located in 56 Market St, Wellington (Telford), TF1 1DT. Training is every Thursday 7-9pm above the “Your move” State Agency in the Kick Boxing Dojo (you have to go through the agency’s door and use the stairs).

We encourage you to train with him because he is a wonderful teacher and an amazing master. You can contact us too if you want further information or just go straight to the Dojo in Wellington. First class is free!

Best wishes for all and hope to hear from you!!!

Thinking of coming back!

Hi all

As you may know from the previous post, we have no Budo classes in Bridgnorth, but we have been thinking about opening again soonish, as the craving of having another day of training during the week is attacking us again. We hope to find a suitable venue and time for that.

Please, be in touch if you are interested in assisting as the numbers of people training will make a difference. Contact number is 07817599131 (ask for Armi) or email bujinkanbridgnorth@gmail.com

We’ll try to find a place in Bridgnorth centre and we are thinking on Wednesdays, but the final day will depend on the venue’s availability.

However, we are still attending to Andrew Young’s classes in Wellington. Current situation (adress updated: September 2014)

Hi all

Sadly, we have to announce that our Budo classes have been closed in Bridgnorth. It is just another stage in our way and we hope to have another chance to start training again soon.

A quick update

We have celebrated our first year of training! It’s incredible how time runs. We are still a small dojo, we are keeping going in this path. Everybody is welcome to walk with us.

Bujinkan Bridgnorth made a small but significant appearance in the Bridgnorth Carnival. Look for the ninja in Facebook!

Our contact number has changed to +44 07817 599 131.

We’d like to say that in August we’ll probably have holidays, although the exact dates are not clear yet. Anyway, they would be during the first two weeks probably.

And with this wonderful weather, we are thinking of some training outdoors, to have a direct contact with Nature, which is very important for the Budo practitioner, to keep the connection with the elements.

Enjoy the summer, people!!!

P.S. We have to say that on the 6th August the dojo will be CLOSED because we’ll be on HOLIDAYS. Enjoy.

We have a new Shidoshi!!!

On the 27th October, during a seminar in Manchester in the Circle Martial Arts, our instructor Armiche Barreno passed successfully the Sakki test, the trial for the 5th Dan in the Bujinkan, becoming a Shidoshi. The Sakki test was performed by Pedro Fleitas, one of the most known Hatsumi Sensei’s pupils and master of Armiche’s instructor, Iván García.

It’s a really important achievement for him and he hopes to keep going in his path in the Bujinkan Dojo, improving with each step and sharing his knowledge with his students, buyu and all the people in his life.

Keeping going with the transmission; this is his challenge.

ABOUT BUJINKAN BUDO TAIJUTSU

Budo Taijutsu (ninjutsu) is a very traditional , non sport related, extremely effective martial art, that includes many techniques from the 9 different schools of Bujinkan to cultivate the body, mind and spirit of a true warrior .

Budo is about enrichment of your being. You learn to walk in the path of the divine warrior. Training in  a complete system with unbroken lineage of over 1000 years to retain a living , evolving art, not a historic relic or a modern day recreation. It has grown and retained its historical roots only to become stronger as times pass and each of the grandmasters kept the historic techniques alive at the same time as applying relevant, traditional versions alongside, in order to adapt to the changing times and needs but retaining these very important foundations. If you are looking for a sport or keep fit based mainstream art, then our advice is this is NOT for you.

We train in a friendly relaxed manner and right from the beginning you will start to learn techniques, that include locks, throws, strikes, kicks, pressure points, conflict management and effective self defense. You also learn how to use various weapons and historical techniques that are as relevant now as they were around 1000 years ago. We really insist in training not using the strength and adapting Budo to your body and characteristics, doing everything in a correct way, avoiding hurting yourself, so this is a martial art suitable for anybody, no matter what age, gender or body shape. It is about freedom and perseverance.

And that´s just the beginning. With all these aspects of the warrior training , apart from the physical aspects you will also improve your self confidence, self discipline and focus. Through training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu the practitioner will feel a justifiable sense of well-being and pride. Brought about by the confidence that this system will provide, this feeling of contentment will soon spread to friends and family, as they will all feel safer when you are around and will always be glad that you are there. The aura of pride will surface through being a part of this unique and like-minded warrior family, a warm, playful and tactile family that is generously dispersed across the world. Gradually students of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu through their combat training will improve their aerobic capacity and their flexibility, it is self evident that maintaining a fit and limber body is essential to longevity and health. Also, with the aid of various techniques the student is taught to achieve and maintain a higher state of awareness, this will be an obvious advantage to them in every aspect of their life.

Merge the physical techniques with the warrior spirit and a true heart and you begin to learn true ninpo. So come and explore the art of the shadow warriors of ancient Japan. Feel free to contact us and ask any question you might have.

Arigato!
